Stuff that I like to get is:
DVD's, CD's, computer/console games, clothes, model cars etc. I like a present to be something I want but cant justify buying myself (nless money was no object to me - but sadly thats not the case lol). I think men (boys!) are easy to buy for as we often have so many different interests.

i find these days that i'm talking to so many people about being a jw and why i am not one now, and in a sense 'giving a witness' as they would term it - only from my point of view its to say why they should avoid it.
i always say to people to ask any witnesses who call on them to ask how the animals managed to cross over the continents after the flood?
like how did the kangaroo's get back to aus?.

ok the first time i thought it was pretty cool how they applied every little scripture to themselves.
i sat rapt with my young children while we discussed wonderful things to come.
the second time i was like...where's my old book with all the notes in the margins, im not looking all this sh-t up again!.

why is it when i have been drinking alcohol i come home sleepy then pow i'm wide awake and can't sleep ?
also is it true drink hard liquor first, followed by beer and water so hangover is not as bad ?

do you feel embarassed if people know that you have jw relatives given the many and well known strange ideas they embrace eg about blood transfusions and the belief that all non jws will be killed soon?
do you feel reluctant to admit that you have such relatives?
I was at work the other day walking along with my boss and this really weird looking woman comes round the corner and as we were talking about relationships at the time I joked saying , wonder if she is available. She then informed me this person was a witless, as if to explain why she seemed weird. So I proceeded to tell her I had been one and the reasons I no longer believed and so on, I admited that I felt stupid looking back, but at the time it was my whole world from a child on.
Now before when I was a witless I would avoid telling anyone, so since leaving I have become more relaxed saying about it even though I now realise I took a leave of my senses during that period - but at least i'm now aware of that and its something to feel good about.

im not very articulate and find it hard to explain myself but here goes-------------------.
i always wondered (not too deeply).
everything was about the hope for a resurrection in heaven, nothing about an earthly paradise.
You were not alone vitty, I used to think this is all written for annointed christians, there is no mention of a paradise earth etc. Its only after leaving the mental confines of the witlesses that I read the NT and realise to be a christian we would be annointed.
Its like there is a scripture about turning back to our former way of life and being worse than those in the world, well this was for those annointed with spirit, something we great crowders were not supposed to have had, so how can they df us for changing our mind when we recieved no special understanding or conversion in it? I also realised we would be free of law by being annointed - the spirit working within us, and yet again that would never happen to the GC so we were still under law (see Romans).

i am now about to buy a new electric oven and ceramic electric hobs so if anyone has advice and tips on these devices let us know.
the oven will be bosch or siemens with triple glass on the door and of course fun assisted, that way food cooks faster and better as a crust is created quickly on the surface of food and seals in the juices, eg meats come out very succulent and tender.
also there is no need to turn food round.
I have to say my prefered choice is to go for a fan assisted oven, with a gas hob. I'm not familiar with all type's of electric hobs but the usual type are much harder to control than a gas one - which has instant heat and easy control. Maybe others know of better electric versions out there that compare well to a gas hob?
